My current research explores the reactivity and mobility of inorganic contaminants and nanoparticles in soils, particularly under climate change-induced alterations in water content. The research work is supported by the Bienvenüe Seal of Excellence award which utilizes advanced spectroscopic investigations and column systems to study the chemical and physical interactions between soil minerals and contaminants under varying moisture conditions. The project, IRIS (Impact of Climate Change on Soil Reactivity and Contaminant Mobility) aims to develop innovative methodologies to assess the fate and transport of inorganic pollutants in soils, focusing on the role of the unsaturated vadose zone.
